End of 2024 flexible spending account plan year is coming. Use it, don't lose it!
2024 limited purpose/medical FSA:
The limited purpose and medical FSAs have a carryover feature. This allows you to carry over $610 or less in unspent funds to the next calendar year. Anything more than $610 will not carry over to use in 2025.
Your claims for expenses with dates of service that occurred in 2024 must be filed by April 30, 2025. After that, funds exceeding $610 will be forfeited.
Please note: After Dec. 31, 2024 any remaining 2024 expenses should be reimbursed by submitting a claim online or by paper claim form. Do not swipe your debit card for expenses incurred in 2024 after Dec. 31, 2024.
2024 dependent care FSA:
The dependent care FSA does not have a carryover provision, so you will lose any funds remaining in that account after the runout deadline of April 30, 2025. To avoid forfeiting any of your funds, file claims with dates of service in 2024, before April 30, 2025.
